Nollywood actress Regina Daniels has revealed that she is no longer interested in marriage following her separation from her estranged husband, Ned Nwoko.
The actress and mother of two, however, said she still hopes to have more children, particularly a daughter, whom she believes would give her a deeper experience of motherhood.
Daniels made the remarks during a livestream with TikToker Jarvis at her Children’s Day carnival held in Asaba, Delta State.
Speaking on her current outlook on relationships and family, the actress said her perspective on marriage has changed, although her desire to expand her family remains strong.
“But for some reason, I’ve checked my mind out of getting married. I’m yet to have a girl. And I must have a girl,” she said.
Daniels explained that she now sees raising a girl child as a unique and emotionally significant part of motherhood.
“I feel like motherhood starts better. Like you would understand motherhood when you have a girl child. So, having boys is easy because at least you can groom them to have a role model in a father figure.
“But for your girl child, you have to be that role model for them to emulate. Before I had my first son, I said no, never, I will never have a girl child. But after my first and second child, I remembered that it’s female kids that remember,” she added.
She also reflected on family dynamics and gender roles, stating that women often remain emotionally connected to their homes even after marriage.
“Men will grow, get married, and focus more on building a family. But for women, she will always remember home,” Daniels said.
Daniels and Nwoko got married in 2019, a union that generated widespread public reactions because of their 40-year age gap. The actress was 19 at the time of the marriage.
The couple shares two sons.
Their marriage reportedly became strained in 2025 following allegations by Nwoko that Daniels was battling substance abuse and required rehabilitation.
The actress denied the claims and accused the senator of manipulation, psychological control, and abuse.
She later moved out of the marriage and has since maintained that she is single.
