The Secretary-General of the Delta State chapter of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, PFN, Bishop Clarence Chinedu James, has reportedly been murdered by suspected assassins in Asaba, the Delta State capital.

Bishop James, who was also the General Overseer of Endtime Reconciliation Ministries, was said to have been gruesomely killed on Tuesday by unidentified assailants.

Details surrounding the circumstances of the attack were still sketchy as of the time of filing this report, but sources disclosed that the attackers allegedly fled with the cleric’s vehicle after taking his life.

The Delta State chapter of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria has since confirmed the killing of its scribe, describing the incident as shocking, tragic, and difficult to comprehend.

In a statement issued on Wednesday by the Director of Press of Delta PFN, Pastor Malcolm Oteri, on behalf of the state chairman, Bishop Abos Willie, the fellowship called for an immediate and thorough investigation into the killing and the swift arrest of those responsible.

The body also revealed that two persons, including the deceased’s driver, had already been arrested by operatives of the Delta State Police Command and were currently undergoing interrogation.

The statement read, “The Delta State Chapter of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria has received with shock the news of the brutal killing of its General Secretary, Bishop Clarence Chinedu James.

“Until his sudden death, Bishop Clarence Chinedu James was the General Overseer of Endtime Reconciliation Ministries in Asaba, the capital of Delta State.

“Bishop Clarence Chinedu James lost his life on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, in an attack by yet-to-be-identified assailants who made away with his vehicle.

“Two men, including his driver, have been arrested by the Delta State Police Command and are undergoing interrogation.”

The statement further noted that the killing had thrown the Pentecostal community in Delta State into mourning, with Bishop Willie expressing deep sadness over the tragic development.

PFN also called on the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Tunji Disu, to direct security operatives in the state to conduct a comprehensive investigation and ensure those behind the murder are brought to justice.
