The Zamfara State Police Command has rescued a man, Abdullahi Isah Nagari, who was abducted by armed bandits on January 29, 2026, in the Tsafe Local Government Area of the state.

The Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Yazid Abubakar, said the victim was found tied to a tree with a machete cut injury on his hand when security operatives located him.

Abubakar explained that the rescue operation was carried out by a combined team of police officers and military personnel following a report of the abduction. He said efforts were ongoing to track down and arrest the perpetrators, while security patrols had been intensified in the area to prevent further incidents.

The police spokesman added that the Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Balarabe Maikaba, had assured residents of the command’s resolve to protect lives and property across the state.

The command urged members of the public to continue supporting security agencies with useful and timely information, noting that the rescue was part of broader efforts to curb banditry in Zamfara State.
