No fewer than 11 people narrowly escaped death on Sunday morning after a private jet crash-landed at the Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport, Kano.
Eyewitnesses said all the occupants, comprising passengers and cabin crew, were safely evacuated from the aircraft amid panic at the scene.
The private jet, owned by Flybird Aviation, reportedly crash-landed at about 9:30 a.m. while approaching the Kano airport on a flight en route to Abuja.
The incident triggered an emergency response, as airport rescue personnel and other relevant stakeholders swiftly converged on the runway to carry out evacuation and safety operations.
As of the time of filing this report, the management of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) had not issued an official statement on the incident. However, unofficial sources disclosed that the passengers were later moved from the airport to an undisclosed location.
