The Delta State Police Command has arrested two key suspects in connection with the murder of retired Justice Ifeoma Okogwu, who was killed on November 23, 2025, in Anambra State.
The suspects—identified as 25-year-old security staff Godwin Mngumi and his accomplice, Nnaji Obalum—were apprehended after days of intelligence-driven investigations by operatives of the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID).
Spokesman for the Delta State Police Command, SP Bright Edafe, said Mngumi was arrested on December 6, 2025, and was found in possession of the late justice’s mobile phone.
According to Edafe, Mngumi confessed to inviting Obalum and another yet-to-be-identified accomplice to the residence, where they allegedly carried out the killing. While Obalum has been arrested, a manhunt is underway for the third suspect.
Edafe assured that the police remain committed to bringing all members of the murder gang to justice.
