Agency Report
The Rivers State Police Command has dismissed online reports alleging that armed robbers attacked a popular bank in Port Harcourt on September 23.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the command’s spokesperson, SP Grace Iringe-Koko, described the report as false and aimed at inciting unnecessary fear among residents.
“The command categorically states that no such incident occurred anywhere in Port Harcourt or across Rivers State,” she said.
Iringe-Koko urged members of the public to disregard the claim and refrain from sharing unverified information. She further warned that individuals who deliberately spread falsehoods would be prosecuted.
Reassuring residents of their safety, the spokesperson stressed that police operatives remain on constant patrol and alert to respond swiftly to any security threats.
“There is no cause for alarm,” she added.
The command reiterated its commitment to protecting lives and property in the state while advising citizens to rely on official sources for accurate updates.
