The Delta State Police Command has apprehended a 21-year-old woman, Queen Chukwu, and several dispatch riders for allegedly using courier services to transport and sell cannabis across the state.

Parading the suspects in a video shared on X (formerly Twitter), the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Dafe Bright, disclosed that the syndicate’s operations were uncovered through credible intelligence.

According to him, the female suspect had been lodged in a hotel for months, selling drugs directly to customers while employing dispatch riders to deliver cannabis disguised as food orders.

“This motorcycle is supposedly for food delivery, but it was used to dispatch cannabis. Dispatch riders usually get less scrutiny, and they exploited that. As you can see, the sticker claims food delivery, but in reality, it was drug distribution,” SP Bright explained.

One of the suspects, Kingsley Eze from Ebonyi State, admitted: “I was caught with cannabis. I helped a client buy it. I was arrested after being searched.”

Another, identified as Ramadan, also confessed: “I was given a smoke to supply. I got it from this lady, and she said the receiver would pay me after delivery.”

During interrogation, Chukwu confirmed her role, saying: “Yes, I gave him the smoke to supply. It’s cannabis worth about N500,000, half a bag. I stay in a hotel and my customers come to me there. I regret doing this. I am from Enugu State.”

SP Bright stressed that the command will not tolerate crime disguised as legitimate businesses. “In Delta State, you can’t outsmart the police command,” he warned.
