The Dangote Group has officially denied any involvement in the fatal road accidents that occurred on September 3, 2025, in Enugu State, clarifying that none of its trucks were linked to the tragic incident.

In a statement released on Wednesday, the conglomerate responded to circulating claims on social media and in some news outlets that attributed the accident to Dangote-branded vehicles. However, according to the Enugu State Police Command, investigations have confirmed that the trucks involved belonged to two separate entities: Visco Investment Global and Global Investment.

Expressing deep sympathy to the victims and their families, the Dangote Group described the accident as “tragic and unfortunate,” while urging the public to refrain from spreading unverified information that could cause undue distress or reputational harm.

The company also raised concerns about the unauthorized use of its brand identity on vehicles not affiliated with the group, noting that it has become a recurring issue. To address this, the Dangote Group announced plans to intensify efforts to identify and penalize individuals or companies illegally using its logo.

“We take brand integrity very seriously,” the statement read. “Our legal team is currently exploring all necessary actions, including prosecution, to deter the unauthorized use of Dangote’s name and branding on vehicles that do not belong to or operate under the company.”

The Group emphasized that it maintains strict protocols and tracking systems for all its fleet operations nationwide and reaffirmed its commitment to road safety and corporate accountability.

Authorities are continuing their investigation into the cause of the crash, which claimed several lives and left others injured.
