The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has promised a substantial bonus to the Super Falcons if they defeat hosts Morocco in the final of the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has set a $1 million prize for the tournament winner.
According to respected journalist Osasu Obayiuwana, the NFF has committed to awarding the Super Falcons 30% of the prize money—amounting to $300,000—should they lift the trophy.
The final is scheduled to kick off at 9 p.m. tonight at the Olympic Stadium in Rabat.
Nigeria’s Super Falcons are aiming for a historic 10th WAFCON title, which would further cement their dominance on the continent.
Meanwhile, Morocco will be appearing in their second final, hoping to make amends after falling 2-1 to South Africa’s Banyana Banyana in the 2022 edition.
