Six law students from the Yola Campus have been rescued by police after being abducted on July 26, 2025, while traveling from Anambra State to Adamawa State.
The abduction occurred late Saturday evening along the volatile Wukari–Benue State corridor, a route known for security challenges.
In a statement released on Friday, August 1, 2025, the Benue State Police Public Relations Officer, Edet Udeme, confirmed the safe release of the students.
According to Udeme, the students have been reunited with their families.
“The police can confirm the successful rescue of the abducted students. We remain committed to the safety and protection of lives and property,” she said.
