Gospel artist Gaise Baba has made history with his latest single, “No Turning Back II” featuring Lawrence Oyor, which has become the highest-charting gospel song ever on Nigeria’s TurnTable Top 100 chart.

The song soared to No. 4 on the chart, which aggregates data from streaming services, radio, and television across the country.

According to TurnTable, the track surpassed the previous records held by Lawrence Oyor’s “Favour” (peaked at No. 23) and “We Will Be Many” by @Sounds_OfSalem featuring Lawrence Oyor and @MosesAkohJr (peaked at No. 26). Notably, all three charting songs feature Lawrence Oyor as either lead or featured artist.

The success of “No Turning Back II” is credited to its powerful lyrics, engaging rhythm, and viral traction on TikTok—where it has inspired trending challenges and sparked widespread user interaction, further amplifying its reach.

A modern reimagining of the classic hymn “I Have Decided to Follow Jesus,” the song fuses traditional gospel themes with contemporary production, creating a dynamic and uplifting anthem.

This achievement marks a significant moment in the continued rise of gospel music in Nigeria’s mainstream scene. Building on the earlier 2025 success of “Favour,” the breakout performance of “No Turning Back II” underscores gospel music’s growing commercial appeal and cultural impact.

Platforms like TikTok remain instrumental in expanding gospel music’s influence, especially among younger listeners, helping to fuel the genre’s renewed popularity nationwide.
