The Ologbotsere of Warri Kingdom in Delta State, Chief Ayirimi Emamii, has used the occasion of the 7th anniversary of his installation to pray for peace and development in the kingdom.

Emami, an effervescent businessman and politician has been involved in a long-drawn battle with the Warri monarch, Ogiame Atuwatse III, over the manner of the latter’s emergence.

Chief Ayiri Emami with the 21st Olu of Warri, Ogiame Ikenwoli, when was made Ologbotsere

Their face-off has deeply polarised the kingdom into Olu and Ologbotsere, after the monarch controversial instituted Chief Oma Eyewuoma, as Ologbotsere, in Emami’s stead. The matter is now a subject of legal contest.

However, Emami, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, Chief Ayirimi Emami, in a low-key event held at his palatial Egbokodo residence in Warri South area rea of Delta State, on Sunday, attributed his victory over his traducers to the God’s guidance.

“We have come to offer prayers to our ancestors today in very low key, because the day I was conferred with the Ologbotsere title, only a few people were there and those people are still here with me today.

‘I pray for peace and long life of Warri kingdom, Iwere sons and daughters, particularly the Ologbotsere descendants,” Chief Emami said.

Speaking earlier, the Spokesperson of Ologbotsere Descendants, Mr Alex Eyengho stated that Chief Emami was conferred with the Ologbotsere title by the 20th Olu of Warri Kingdom, Ogiame Okenwoli, after a recommendation from the Ologbosere family.

Eyengho said only the Ologbotsere family has a say in who should be the Ologbotsere of Warri Kingdom, insisting that the family is staunchly behind Emami.
