Yusuf Buhari, son of former President Muhammadu Buhari, has emerged as the candidate of the All Progressives Congress for the Daura/Sandamu/Mai’adua Federal Constituency ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that Yusuf clinched the party’s ticket unopposed following a stakeholders’ meeting held in Katsina on Tuesday, April 28, where he was unanimously adopted as the party’s consensus candidate.
The chairman of the Consensus Committee for Daura Zone, Ahmed Dangiwa, announced the agreement, formally confirming Yusuf’s emergence as the party’s flag bearer for the federal constituency.
Speaking after the adoption, Mannir Musa urged party members to accept the outcome in good faith and rally behind the consensus decision in the interest of unity and progress.
He also appealed to Dikko Radda to support aspirants who did not secure tickets, urging them to remain committed to serving the people through the party.
Musa further called on candidates who emerged through the consensus arrangement to justify the confidence reposed in them by delivering quality representation to their constituents if elected.
He named other consensus candidates as Nasir Yahaya for the Daura Senatorial District and Mustapha Musa for the Mai’adua seat in the Katsina State House of Assembly.
In his acceptance remarks, Yusuf Buhari thanked party members for the confidence placed in him and pledged to provide quality representation for the people of the constituency if elected.
