The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) under the leadership of Ambassador Umar Damagum has expelled Federal Capital Territory Minister, Nyesom Wike; former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose; National Secretary, Senator Samuel Anyanwu, and eight other senior members over alleged anti-party activities.

Those affected include Bature, Adeyemi Ajibade (SAN), Mohammed Abdulrahman, Mao Ohuabunwa, Austin Nwachukwu, George Turner, Abraham Amali, and Dan Orbi.

In a sweeping decision, the party also dissolved its state executive committees in Rivers, Abia, Imo, Plateau, and Enugu States.

The motions for both actions were moved during the ongoing PDP Elective National Convention in Ibadan. Member of the Board of Trustees (BoT), Chief Bode George, pushed for the expulsion of the affected chieftains, while Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, moved for the dissolution of the state executives.

According to the duo, the decisions were taken in line with Section 33(2) of the PDP Constitution (2017 as amended), following what they described as grave violations and conduct deemed detrimental to the party’s unity and progress.
