Former Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, has officially taken a fourth wife, Hiqma, in a private ceremony held over the weekend in Abuja.
The low-key wedding was attended by close family members and trusted friends, reflecting Bello’s preference for maintaining privacy in his personal affairs.
News of the nuptials was first confirmed by his third wife, Hafiza Yahaya Bello, who took to Instagram to welcome the newest member of the family.
“Our family just got a little bigger and more loving,” she wrote in a heartfelt post, expressing gratitude and offering prayers for continued peace and blessings within their home.
Yahaya Bello, who governed Kogi State from 2016 to 2023 under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), is now married to four women: Amina Oyiza Bello, Rashida Yahaya Bello, Hafiza Bello, and now, Hiqma.
Throughout his political career, Bello has been known to keep his family life away from the public eye, rarely making headlines for personal matters. His latest marriage marks a new chapter in his private life, following the conclusion of his eight-year tenure as governor.
A native of Kogi State, Bello is an alumnus of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, where he earned both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Business Administration.
As one of Nigeria’s relatively young and controversial political figures, Yahaya Bello continues to draw public attention—both for his political record and, now, his growing family.
