A male student of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, reportedly jumped from a three-story building and was immediately taken to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The incident took place at a lodge near the university’s entrance. Locals stated that the student appeared to have consumed hard drugs before the fall.
Neighbors reported hearing a loud noise, and upon rushing to the scene, they found the victim’s body lying in a pool of blood.
Authorities discovered that the student’s roommate was also under the influence of the same substances, as he was found incoherent in their room.
The roommate is currently in police custody and is expected to be questioned once his condition stabilizes.
The identity of the deceased has not yet been released, as authorities work to notify the family while continuing their investigation into the incident.
