High Chief Dr. Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo and Chairman of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited (TSSNL), has expressed profound sorrow over the passing of former President Muhammadu Buhari.
In a statement released on Monday, the prominent Ijaw leader described Buhari as a principled and patriotic statesman whose tenure from 2015 to 2023 marked a period of significant contribution to Nigeria’s development and stability.
“President Buhari was not driven by materialism,” Tompolo said.
“He was content with what God had given him and remained steadfast in his commitment to serving the nation throughout his life.”
Tompolo praised Buhari’s integrity and dedication to national progress, particularly recalling the President’s 2022 decision to engage Tantita Security Services in safeguarding Nigeria’s critical oil and gas infrastructure. At the time, the sector was grappling with severe challenges, including widespread oil theft and pipeline vandalism.
“Today, Nigeria is steadily moving toward maximizing oil production, a progress made possible by the bold steps taken under his leadership,” he noted.
“His administration laid the groundwork for a more secure and efficient energy sector.”He also paid tribute to Buhari’s quiet strength, unwavering commitment to unity, and tireless pursuit of peace.
“Nigerians will dearly miss him,” Tompolo added, extending heartfelt condolences to the late President’s family, close associates, and the entire nation.
“May his soul rest in perfect peace.”
