Within hours of the announcement of former President Muhammadu Buhari’s death in a London hospital, a steady stream of mourners began arriving at his Kaduna residence on Jabi Close to pay their respects.

Among the first visitors was former Minister of Water Resources, Alhaji Suleiman Adamu, who told reporters that the late President’s remains would be flown to his hometown, Daura in Katsina State, for burial.

Though it was not immediately clear which family members were present to receive condolences, many neighbours gathered solemnly along the street. Some stood in silence, others shared quiet memories of the former leader, while a few were seen weeping.

Security around the area was swiftly heightened. Two military gun trucks were positioned near the residence, and heavily armed soldiers patrolled the street, restricting access and preventing unauthorized parking or loitering.

The atmosphere was sombre as more well-wishers and political associates arrived, offering prayers for the repose of the former President’s soul and comfort for his grieving family.

The family, in collaboration with the Katsina State Government, is expected to release details of the funeral arrangements soon.
