After a season filled with show-stopping performances and emotional highs, Purp has been crowned the winner of Nigerian Idol Season 10.
A 25-year-old Dramatic Arts graduate from Obafemi Awolowo University, Purp captivated audiences with her powerful vocals and heartfelt storytelling — a skill honed through years of singing in church choirs. Her victory comes with a grand prize package worth celebrating: N30 million, a brand-new SUV, and an array of other exciting rewards.
The finale, held in Lagos, was a spectacular tribute to Nigeria’s vibrant music culture. Hosted by the dynamic IK Osakioduwa, the event featured high-energy performances from the season’s Top 10, including the eight previously eliminated contestants who returned to the stage, each reflecting the growth they’ve undergone throughout the competition.
Adding to the night’s legacy, past winners — Kingdom Kroseide (Season 6), Progress Chukwuyem (Season 7), Victory Gbakara (Season 8), and Chima Udoye (Season 9) — made special guest appearances, reinforcing the show’s reputation as a platform for discovering and nurturing exceptional talent.
A major highlight of the evening was a dynamic live performance from Nigerian music icon Omawumi, who lit up the stage with her latest single and left the audience spellbound.
Season 10 began with a mix of virtual and on-ground auditions, leading into the high-pressure Theatre Week, where the Top 10 were selected. The live shows, which began on May 25, showcased the contestants’ artistic growth week after week, building up to an unforgettable finale.
With this well-earned win, Purp now joins the illustrious lineup of Nigerian Idol champions making waves in Africa’s music industry. As the season wraps up with joy and applause, a new chapter begins for this extraordinary talent.
