The Delta State Police Command led by CP Olufemi Abaniwonda has paraded a 25-year-old woman, Blessing Kojoh Oghenefejiro, for allegedly trafficking her six-week-old baby.
Oghenefejiro was among the 17 other suspects paraded by the State’s Police spokesperson, SP Bright Edafe at the Ekpan Division in Uvwie Local Government Area.
Parading the suspect, Edafe said, “On the 9th of January, we received a complaint from the boyfriend of this lady we are having here that the girlfriend, Blessing Kojoh Oghenefejiro, 25years deceived him that the child they had, 6 weeks old child they had together had died and she had already buried her.
“He became suspicious and started looking for the child only for him to discover that the suspect, Blessing Kojoh took the child to a couple, deceived this couple, and told them that she was ganged raped by four boys and that led to the pregnancy and she does not know the father of the child and cannot take care of the child.
”SP Edafe said the 25-year-old suspect, Blessing Kojoh Oghenefejiro, is in custody.
In a chat with newsmen, the suspect confessed to having committed the offense, saying the couple had only paid her N10,000 naira.
