A police constable serving with the Nasarawa Police Command, identified as Dogara Akolo Moses, has allegedly taken his own life for unknown reasons.
On the day of the incident, February 4, 2025, Moses was earlier seen by colleagues going about his normal duties at the Mada Divisionz in Nasarawa Eggon LGA.
He was said to have later shot himself to death in one of the offices without leaving any suicide note.
The officer was said to have gone into a private room and shot himself, while the sound of the gun prompted all officers on duty to run to the scene only to meet the deceased lying in the pool of his blood.
Spokesperson of the State’s Police Command, SP Ramhan Nansel, while confirming the incident, explained that the Command was working hard to unearth the circumstances surrounding the officer’s death.
According to him, the investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the officer’s action.
