Security operatives in Kaduna State have arrested three suspected kidnappers and successfully rescued three abducted minors from their captors.

In a statement released on Wednesday, the Kaduna State Police Command confirmed that the incident occurred on August 25, 2025. At approximately 1:45 p.m., three children—Aslam Umar Lukman (14), Suleiman Umar Tanko (12), and Aliyu Umar Tanko (10)—were abducted, with the kidnappers demanding a ransom of ₦50 million.

According to the command’s spokesperson, DSP Mansir Hassan, the children’s father reported the abduction on August 26 around 3:00 p.m., prompting immediate police action.

“Upon receiving the report, operatives of the command, through strategic intelligence gathering and tactical communication, lured the suspected mastermind, Richard Philip, out of hiding and apprehended him,” Hassan said.

During interrogation, Philip reportedly confessed to the crime and identified two accomplices—Ibrahim Ma’aruf (18) and Abubakar Sadiq (15). He also revealed that the victims were being held at his residence.

Acting swiftly on this intelligence, police officers raided the location, arrested the two accomplices, and rescued all three children unharmed.

The rescued minors have since been reunited with their families by the Commissioner of Police, CP Rabiu Muhammad.

Reaffirming the command’s dedication to public safety, CP Muhammad urged parents to remain vigilant and assured residents that the police would continue to take firm action against all forms of criminal activity.
