The Katsina State Police Command has apprehended a 28-year-old suspected notorious car snatcher in Katsina metropolis, marking a success in the ongoing efforts to combat car theft in the state.
The command’s spokesperson, DSP Abubakar Aliyu, announced the arrest in a statement released on Thursday, detailing the effective tracking and recovery of a black Toyota Corolla 2019 model stolen from the residence of Sunday Solomon in Lugbe, Abuja.
Following a tip-off to the Anti-Kidnapping Unit, detectives swiftly located the stolen vehicle in the Kofar-Kwaya area of Katsina metropolis and arrested Muhammad Abdullahi, 28, of Kofar-Kaura quarters, in possession of the stolen car.
Abdullahi confessed to receiving the vehicle from an accomplice known as Abdul, alias Dukiya, from Malumfashi, Katsina State, who is currently evading arrest. The police are actively pursuing Dukiya and other individuals involved in the criminal operation.
Commending the diligent work of the operatives, the Commissioner of Police, Bello Shehu, affirmed the command’s dedication to combating crime and ensuring the safety of the state’s residents. He encouraged the public to continue providing valuable information to assist law enforcement agencies in maintaining security within the state.
