USA/CANADA: A Nigerian-born Canadian, Amaka Patience Sunnberger faces a possible withdrawal of her Canadian citizenship after her infamous rant calling for the poisoning of her fellow Nigerians of Yoruba and Bini tribal extractions.

The fair-skinned attracted media attention after the rant, which urged her Ibo kinsmen to find ways to poison the water and food of the targeted group and kpai (eliminate) them.

Various Ibo groups, including the foremost Ohaneze Ndigbo, the Ibo socio-cultural group, have denounced the poisonous statement and condemned Ms Sunnberger’s call.

The Labour Party’s presidential candidate in the 2023 election, Mr Peter Obi, utterly condemned Ms Sunnberger’s hate rant, saying, “Such divisive comments have no place in our society.”

Still, she risked being faced with deportation after the National Assembly of Nigeria invoked their s]ties via the Nigeria-Canada parliamentary friendship group to demand action against the obnoxious comments contained in the speech.

House of Representative Committee on diaspora matters has Petitioned Ms. Sunnberger for Incitement to genocide and hate speech against Yoruba and Edo ethnic groups.

NDN authoritatively gathered that the Canadian government is strongly opposed to statements inciting violence and murder, and could invoke the harshest punitive measures, including deportation against her.

Sunnberger was seen telling a gathering in pidgin English, “Record me very well; it’s time to start poisoning the Yoruba and the Benin. Put poison for all una food for work. Put poison for una water, make una dey kpai (die) one by one,”

“I want make Ndi Igbo get that heart of wickedness. Una too dey quiet,” the woman said, addressing other participants. “Enough is enough! If you have any means of kpaing them, kpai them comot for road.”
