More than 150 residents have been displaced following a series of bandit attacks on several villages in the Rabah Local Government Area of Sokoto State.
The attacks occurred on Tuesday night and affected communities in Rara ward, including Madawa, Cirib Dikko, Cirib Sabon Gari, Qaurare, Tafara, and Tukuyum. Fearing for their lives, residents fled their homes in large numbers.
A security analyst, Bakatsine, disclosed the incident in a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday, calling for urgent government intervention.
“Bandit attack in Rara ward villages, Rabah LGA, Sokoto State, last night, forced at least 150 people to flee,” the post read.
“Villages hit include Madawa, Cirib Dikko, Cirib Sabon Gari, Qaurare, Tafara, and Tukuyum. Survivors urgently need government aid.”
As of the time of reporting, no official statement has been released by local authorities regarding casualties or the current security response.
