There was pandemonium in Ofosu village, along the Benin Sagamu Express, in Idanre LGA of Ondo State, as suspected political thugs fired staccatos of gunshots during Saturday’s election.
The incident, one of the few cases of violence in the ongoing election, scared away voters from the bustling commercial town.
“If their (gunmen’s) intention was to scare us, they succeeded because everybody stayed away. We are not willing to die for politicians who are only after their pockets and their families’ interest,” one aggrieved resident told NDN.
