A video circulating on social media shows the newly appointed local government administrator for Obio/Akpor, Dr. Clifford Ndu Walter, personally dismantling a billboard featuring the image of Governor Siminalayi Fubara.
The footage, which emerged on Saturday, captures Dr. Walter—just one day into his new role—leading the removal of the billboard situated at the local government secretariat.
Governor Fubara was suspended in March under contentious circumstances by President Bola Tinubu. In his stead, a sole administrator, Ibok-ete Ibas, was installed to manage the state for an initial six-month term.
Instead of easing tensions, Ibas’s administration has introduced sweeping reforms, including the dismissal of Fubara’s political allies and the appointment of new administrators across all 23 local government areas.
Critics claim the reshuffling is designed to strengthen the influence of former governor Nyesom Wike, Fubara’s political adversary and a central player in the ongoing political standoff.
