The National Examinations Council (NECO) has distanced itself from a fraudulent Facebook account falsely created in the name of its Registrar and Chief Executive, Prof. Dantani Wushishi, warning that the page is being used to deceive and defraud unsuspecting members of the public.
This was disclosed in a statement issued in Abuja on Sunday by the Council’s Acting Director of Information and Public Relations, Mr. Azeez Sani.
“The Council wishes to alert the general public to the existence of this fake Facebook account to prevent individuals from falling victim to scammers,” Sani stated.
He added that security agencies have been notified and are taking necessary steps to identify and prosecute those behind the fraudulent activity.
