Popular Lagos socialite Mike Eze Nwalie Nwogu, better known as Pretty Mike, and former Big Brother Naija housemate Tuoyo Ideh have been arrested by operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) during a midnight raid on a nightclub in Victoria Island, Lagos.

The NDLEA confirmed the development in a statement released on Sunday, revealing that over 100 guests were apprehended during the operation at Proxy Nightclub, located on Akin Adesola Street.

According to the agency’s Director of Media and Advocacy, Femi Babafemi, the raid was prompted by intelligence reports indicating a “drug party” was underway at the venue.

“In Lagos, NDLEA operatives, in the early hours of Sunday, October 26, raided Proxy Nightclub, Victoria Island, where a drug party was taking place.
Over 100 suspects, including the owner of the club, Mike Eze Nwalie Nwogu, alias Pretty Mike, were arrested and taken into custody for screening,” the statement said.

Babafemi added that cartons of banned substances, including Loud (a potent form of cannabis) and laughing gas (nitrous oxide), were recovered from the club’s store and from individuals at the event.

The NDLEA disclosed that its operatives had infiltrated the venue around 11 p.m. on Saturday, before moving in to disrupt the gathering at about 3 a.m. on Sunday, acting in line with its Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Confirming the arrest on social media, Tuoyo wrote via his Instagram page:

“I have been arrested by the NDLEA from a nightclub in Lagos for basically doing nothing. Since around 4 a.m., they’ve made us sit down like criminals — over 150 of us — and took us to the NDLEA headquarters in Ikoyi. We didn’t commit any crime; they just stormed in with guns and told everyone to lie down.”

As of the time of filing this report, the NDLEA has yet to release further details on the screening process or possible charges against the suspects.
