Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has revealed that he found a dead bat on his bed the day after the September 21, 2024 governorship election, attributing the incident to divine protection.

Speaking at a praise concert celebrating his inauguration and that of Deputy Governor Dennis Idahosa, Okpebholo emphasized his faith in God throughout the election process.

The governor recalled how, while waiting for election results, he faced opposition from critics across various media platforms.

“While they were operating from platforms like Arise TV, Facebook, and Channels, I turned to God,” Okpebholo said, acknowledging that his victory was a result of divine intervention.

Describing the discovery of the bat on September 22, 2024, Okpebholo said, “The bat was on my bed without any explanation, but the Spirit of God was there to protect me.”

He expressed gratitude to the religious leaders who supported him and encouraged others to trust in God alone, stating, “With God, all things are possible.”

The governor also shared that throughout his senatorial campaigns in 2023 and his governorship bid in 2024, he did not seek the help of native doctors, prophets, or shrines. Instead, he relied solely on faith in God.
