A yet-to-be-identified mother has allegedly abandoned her newborn baby in front of Blessed Clinic, located in Oru Ijebu, Ijebu North Local Government Area of Ogun State.
The Public Relations Officer of the Ogun State Police, Omolola Odutola, while addressing newsmen on Monday, said the baby was found by the owner of the clinic at about 6:45 am on Friday
Odutola said the few-days-old child was taken in by the clinic owner for urgent medical care before contacting the Oru Police Division of the command.
She disclosed that an investigation has begun and the command is currently searching for the mother.
Odutola stated, “The medical doctor in charge of the hospital alerted our division about the child.
We have initiated an investigation into the matter, and the child is currently receiving treatment at the hospital.”
