Pastor Ayorinde AdeBello, one of two pastors who were recently suspended by the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), has denied allegations of homosexuality.
AdeBello, in a post on his Instagram account, explained that his earlier silence was wrongly interpreted as an admission of guilt, leading him to respond to the claims.
He stated that he never asked for sexual favours from men in exchange for help or positions, emphasizing that God alone determines who receives such roles.
AdeBello expressed disappointment at how his words were misrepresented on WhatsApp, saying they were taken out of context to mislead others.

AdeBello: My silence misunderstood as admission of guilt
He wrote: “In the past few days, some allegations were made against me and others through a blog on social media called Gist Lover.
“I wanted to respond immediately, but I was advised not to, as I was not the only one named, and the allegations seemed intended to increase engagement on the blog.
“However, since these claims have escalated to criminal allegations, I feel I must respond, as my silence has been misunderstood as an admission of guilt.”
He continued, “I have NEVER demanded sex from any male in exchange for help or positions. God is the only one who gives and takes away roles and platforms.
“I have NEVER had sex with anyone or proposed sex for any reason.
“The questions in the screenshot were from a conversation in a WhatsApp group for teenage boys discussing Male Reproductive Health and self-esteem.
“We talked about proper hygiene, the right kind of underwear to buy, and how size should not affect their self-esteem, as God uniquely created them.
“It is upsetting to see my words misquoted to suggest that I have inappropriate relationships with male teenagers.”
The RCCG’s suspension letter, signed by National Overseer Sunday Akande, mentioned serious allegations of homosexuality and called for a thorough investigation.
