Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has dismissed speculation suggesting he intends to defect to the African Democratic Congress (ADC) or align with figures within the party.

In a statement issued Friday by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, the governor described the rumours as unfounded and reiterated his unwavering loyalty to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

“Our attention has been drawn to reports alleging Governor Adeleke’s defection to the ADC or an alliance with its leaders ahead of the 2026 governorship election. These claims are entirely false,” the statement read.

Rasheed clarified that not only is Adeleke firmly rooted in the PDP, but the party in Osun has already endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the 2027 presidential election — a move that underscores the party’s current alignment strategy.

“Governor Adeleke has no alliance with anyone in the ADC. He will contest under the PDP and does not need any external support to secure a wide-margin victory in 2026,” the aide added.

Highlighting the governor’s ongoing achievements, the statement credited Adeleke’s popularity to his strong performance since taking office, emphasizing that Osun voters are eager to continue with his leadership.

The governor also called on PDP members across the state to remain focused and continue strengthening party structures in preparation for another electoral victory in 2026.
