Four members of the House of Representatives from Rivers State have defected from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to the All Progressives Congress, APC.
The defections occurred about one week after Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara joined the ruling party, signalling a major political realignment in the state.
The lawmakers who changed party affiliation are Manuchim Umezuruike, representing Port Harcourt I Federal Constituency; Boniface Emerengwa of Ikwerre/Emuoha Federal Constituency; Awake-Inombek Abiante of Andoni/Opobo Federal Constituency; and Boma Goodhead, who represents Asari-Toru Federal Constituency.
The development is expected to further reshape the political landscape in Rivers State, with more details anticipated in the coming days.
