Former Governor of Delta State, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, has formally defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC), receiving his membership card on Monday at his Warri GRA residence.

His entry into the party was marked by a warm reception from key APC figures, including Delta South Women Leader Alero Tenumah, APC Abigborodo Ward 6 Chairman George Ino, and several other local leaders.

Dr. Uduaghan, displaying his new membership card (Delta WRN//023/32001), expressed gratitude for the welcome and pledged to support the APC’s efforts in moving Delta State forward.

Further signaling a growing family alignment with the party, his daughter, Ms. Orode Uduaghan—Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs, Community Support Services, and Child Development—also collected her APC membership card from ward officials.

Tenumah urged new members to take active roles in advancing the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu and the M.O.R.E Agenda of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori. She assured Dr. Uduaghan of a collaborative effort to fortify the APC in Warri North LGA and across Delta State.

In 2018, Uduaghan defected from the PDP to the APC citing President Muhammadu Buhari’s commitment to addressing issues in the Niger Delta as a key reason for his decision. However, he returned to the PDP in 2020, stating that he had tasted both parties and found it refreshing to be back with the PDP.

His recent rejoining of the APC indicates a shift in his political alignment, reflecting ongoing change in Nigeria’s political landscape.
