Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have arrested 74 individuals suspected of internet fraud in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory.
The arrests were made on Monday, June 30, 2025, at Joyous Hotel in Nyanya, a suburb of the capital, following actionable intelligence linking the suspects to cybercrime activities.
According to EFCC spokesperson Dele Oyewale, items recovered during the operation include 86 mobile phones, a rifle pistol, and three motorcycles.
“The suspects were apprehended based on credible intelligence regarding their alleged involvement in internet-related offences,” Oyewale stated. “They will be formally charged in court upon the completion of ongoing investigations.”
