The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested 37 individuals suspected of internet fraud in Wukari, Taraba State.
In a statement issued on Wednesday in Abuja, the commission’s spokesperson, Dele Oyewale, confirmed the arrests, which were carried out by operatives from the EFCC’s Makurdi Zonal Directorate.
According to Oyewale, the suspects were apprehended in an area behind the Federal University, Wukari, following credible intelligence linking them to alleged cybercrime activities.
Items recovered during the operation include two vehicles, 12 laptops, and 46 mobile phones.
“The suspects will be charged in court as soon as investigations are concluded,” Oyewale added.
