The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested 32 individuals suspected of internet fraud in Bauchi State.
According to a statement released on Monday by EFCC spokesperson Dele Oyewale, the suspects were apprehended on Friday by operatives from the Commission’s Gombe Zonal Directorate.
The arrests took place in the Sabon Kaura and Gwalameji areas of Bauchi, following credible intelligence linking the individuals to online fraud.
Recovered items include 15 iPhones, nine Samsung phones, one Infinix phone, three Redmi phones, two iPads, eight laptops, and four Neonx Auto bikes. Other seized items were a Peugeot 406 car, two PlayStation 4 consoles, one PlayStation 5, a Maxi E50KWH generator, and a pistol.
Oyewale noted that the suspects will be prosecuted once investigations are completed.
