A Delta State social activist, Mr. Zik Gbemre, has blamed the ruling Peoples Democratic, PDP, for the prevailing underdevelopment and mass relocation of oil and services companies from the state.

Gbemre, who is the founder of Niger Delta Peace Coalition, warned voters in the state against re-electing Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, in the governorship election.

He gave the warning in a Facebook post, titled, “Deltans Have Had it With PDP ‘Share the Money Rule”.

He said, “Only a fool will vote for (the) PDP governorship candidate in Delta come 2027. The people are tired of (the) PDP administration. Since 1999 till present, PDP governors have reduced Delta to a ‘rascality state’.

Gbemre lamented the prevailing situation in urban areas of the state, where he said, “You see thugs in uniforms harassing motorists and Keke (tricycle) drivers with impunity.

“Delta University graduates have been turned into keke drivers and commercial motorcyclists.

“No good motorable roads. Oil companies are fast relocating to neighbouring states.”

He queried the wealth of former governors of the state, including the two and current governor, whom he said became suddenly wealthy “with stolen money from Delta’s treasury.”

“Deltan people are tired of PDP’s administration in the state. PDP should be voted out of power in Delta in 2027. No going back,” he said.
