
Operatives of the Delta State Police Command have arrested two suspects after a guest was found dead in a room at Century Home Hotel, Owhelogbo community, Isoko North Local Government Area of Delta State on Sunday.
The hotel, owned by one Chief Joseph Oghole, which was shut down by the council authorities on Tuesday, is suspected of being a den for kidnapping and other nefarious activities.
According to reports, the deceased, one Sunday Ogofotha had lodged in the hotel, Friday, with plans to attend a funeral ceremony the following day.
But when he did not show up, his family became concerned and decided to check the hotel, where he had told the wife he lodged in.
Accompanied by vigilante operatives, the family stormed the hotel and demanded to check all the rooms. After some resistance, when they were to check one of the rooms, the door was eventually broken down, and the deceased was found tied with injuries on his body.
It was further learned that the incident led to the recovery of a Point of Sale machine and other valuables belonging to a POS operator, Bethel, allegedly killed at the hotel last year.
When contacted, the Delta State Police spokesman, SP Bright Edafe, confirmed the arrest of “two suspects,” who he said were linked to the “kidnapping” of the deceased man.
He did not, however, disclose if the hotelier was among those arrested.
