Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, on Thursday met with United States President Donald Trump at the 74th Annual National Prayer Breakfast held on Capitol Hill, Washington, D.C.

Mrs Tinubu attended the high-profile event alongside global political and religious leaders, where she was publicly acknowledged by President Trump during his address.

In his remarks, Trump invited the Nigerian First Lady to stand as he recognised her presence, drawing applause from the audience. He described her as “a very respected woman,” noting her influence both in public service and religious leadership.

Introducing her, the U.S. president highlighted her dual role as Nigeria’s First Lady and a Christian pastor, adding that she serves at what he described as the largest church in Nigeria.

“We’re honoured to be joined today by the First Lady of Nigeria, who also happens to serve as a Christian pastor at the largest church in Nigeria. A very respected woman. First Lady, please, where are you? Thank you very much,” Trump said.

The National Prayer Breakfast is an annual event that brings together world leaders, lawmakers, and faith leaders to reflect on shared values and prayer.
