Tension gripped the Karfi community in Malumfashi Local Government Area of Katsina State on Tuesday evening after residents captured and killed a man suspected to be an informant for bandits.
The development was disclosed by a security analyst, Bakatsine, in a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday morning.
According to Bakatsine, the suspect reportedly confessed to aiding bandits in planning and executing attacks on several communities, including Karfi, Tashar-Fulani, and Layin Minister. He also admitted to kidnapping a woman identified as Hajiyar Buroni, whom he allegedly transported on a motorcycle.
Residents who apprehended him found charms and an incense pot in his possession, further fueling suspicions of his involvement in criminal activities.
