Paris Saint-Germain have officially announced the signing of Nigerian forward Rasheedat Ajibade on a two-year contract, following her departure from Atlético de Madrid at the end of last season.
The Super Falcons captain, who led Nigeria to victory at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), expressed her excitement at joining the French powerhouse.
“It’s a great honour to sign for Paris Saint-Germain, one of the top clubs in Europe. This is a big step in my career, and I’m fully committed to helping the team win trophies and to being a source of inspiration for young players in Nigeria and beyond,” said the 24-year-old.
Ajibade, named Player of the Tournament at WAFCON 2024, registered one goal and two assists as Nigeria secured a record-extending 10th title.
She now joins fellow Nigerian international Jennifer Echegini in Paris, as PSG look to bolster their squad ahead of the new campaign and mount a serious challenge for the Ligue 1 Féminine title, last won in 2021.
