Authorities in Anambra State have launched a full investigation following the discovery of a deceased pregnant woman hanging from a cashew tree near the Ike-Ideani road in Idemili North Local Government elections Area.
The body, found in a secluded spot by shocked residents of the Ideani community, has raised serious concerns and prompted a swift response from law enforcement.
Commissioner of Police Ikioye Orutugu has described the case as deeply tragic and a reflection of grave inhumanity. He called on local stakeholders and community members to come forward with any information that could assist in uncovering the circumstances behind the woman’s death.
He further emphasized the need to identify the victim so her family can be informed and her remains properly handled. Police operatives from the Ogidi Division have taken the body to the mortuary for examination as investigations continue.
