The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested two suspects in connection with the killing of a 25-year-old man, Friday Isah, in Mubi North Local Government Area of the state.
The incident, which occurred during a birthday party in Digil Ward, was confirmed in a statement issued on Sunday by the command’s spokesperson, Suleiman Nguroje. According to the statement, the suspects allegedly stabbed the victim with a knife before fleeing the scene.
Police operatives attached to the Mubi North Divisional Headquarters were said to have responded swiftly after receiving the report and rushed the victim to a medical facility. However, he was later confirmed dead by a doctor.
The suspects, identified as Samson Elisha, 19, and Ayuba Stephen, 21, both residents of Digil in Mubi North LGA, have since been apprehended, while investigations into the incident are ongoing.
The Commissioner of Police, Kabir Umar, has directed the State Criminal Investigation Department to take over the case to ensure a thorough investigation and prosecution of those involved.
The police command reiterated its commitment to ensuring justice and urged residents to remain law-abiding and report any suspicious activities promptly to security agencies.
