The Lagos State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of a female nursery school teacher captured on video physically assaulting a three-year-old pupil.

The video, shared by Oyindamola, who identifies as #dammiedammie35, captured a female teacher slapping the child’s face.

The video captioned, “Footage from Christ-Mitots School in Ikorodu” showed a teacher named Stella Nwadigo mistreating and physically abusing a 3-year-old boy, Abayomi Micheal.”

The disturbing footage showed Nwadigo violently slapping Micheal, who is only three years old across the face for failing to write the number 61 well.

The shocking video has sparked outrage and raised serious concerns about the safety and care of children in educational institutions.

The Lagos State Police spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, in a statement on his X.com handle, verified the teacher’s detention, saying, “Thank you for the update. She is currently in our custody for further necessary actions.”

The footage, which has since gone viral on social media, has triggered a wave of public outcry, with many calling for swift action to be taken to ensure the protection of children in schools.

The police are now investigating the matter further as they work to ensure accountability.
