The Anambra State Police Command has arrested five suspects in connection with a coordinated armed robbery and vandalism attack on an international company in Agulu, Anaocha Local Government Area.

The arrests were made on the evening of December 8, 2025, during a joint operation by operatives of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS), Awkuzu, and personnel of the Neni Divisional Headquarters. The operation followed an ongoing investigation into a reported case of conspiracy and armed robbery.

Police Public Relations Officer, SP Ikenga Tochukwu, in a statement on Thursday said the suspects were found in possession of one pump-action gun, 10 live cartridges, and a black motorcycle allegedly used during the attack.

The suspects—Okemili Chikwado, 20; Collins Nwakpa, 23; Chukwuemeka Igboke, 18; Nwali Chinedu, 18; and Ekene Nwakwo, 22—reportedly confessed to taking part in the operation. “The suspects confessed to their involvement in the crime and named one Arinze as their major receiver of the stolen properties,” Ikenga stated.

He added that efforts have been intensified to track down additional members of the gang. “Further investigation is ongoing, and efforts are underway to apprehend other fleeing suspects and recover the stolen or vandalised equipment.”

SP Ikenga reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to dismantling criminal networks across Anambra State.
