The Ogun State Police Command has arrested a 25-year-old suspect, Abubakar Musa, for allegedly killing two persons and injuring three others in a knife attack in the Olámbe area of the state.
The command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, confirmed the incident in a statement on Wednesday, describing it as a violent outburst linked to a failed business deal.
According to the police, the suspect attacked the victims with a knife after becoming agitated over an unsuccessful business transaction. The victims were reportedly attempting to calm him when the situation escalated.
“Detectives of the Ajuwon Division have arrested Abubakar Musa, aged 25. He is accused of killing two people and injuring three others at Olámbe, Ogun State,” the statement said.
The incident occurred in the early hours of Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at about 1:38 a.m., when the suspect allegedly stabbed five individuals.
Two of the victims, identified as Gbadamasi Ibrahim, 25, and Chinedu, 40, died while being rushed to the hospital, where doctors later confirmed them dead.
Three others—Mohammed Abubakar, 35; Ashiru Adamu, 25; and Paul Lawrence, 25—sustained serious injuries and are currently receiving treatment. Police said the injured victims are in critical condition but responding to treatment.
The suspect reportedly fled the scene after the attack but was later apprehended by police detectives. He is currently in custody.
Authorities confirmed that the case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation and prosecution.
Reacting to the incident, the Commissioner of Police, Bode Ojajuni, condemned the attack and assured residents that justice would be served. He also urged members of the public to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious or violent behaviour to security agencies.
