A chieftain of the African Democratic Congress and ally of former Vice President Atiku abubakar, Dino Melaye, has ruled out the chances of the 2023 Labour Party Presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi of winning the 2027 presidential election.
Melaye, who contested and lost the 2023 Kogi governorship election, spoke in an interview with Channels Television that was monitored in Lagos.
He said Mr Obi, who enjoys supporter of young Nigerians, lack the capacity needed to unify all sections of the country.
He said, “But let me even tell you, Peter Obi is a fantastic Nigerian. I have tremendous respect for him, and I’ve said it before, he is a fantastic person, but this is not his time to be President,” Melaye said.
Melaye, who was defeated by incumbent Kogi State Governor, Alh Ahmed Ododo, has irked the ‘Obedients’ as supporters of Peter Obi, a former Anambra State Governor, are known.
“Melaye is speaking from his belly,” an Obi supporter told our reporter.
