The Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly, Hon. Blessing Agbebaku, is set to lead a mass defection of six lawmakers from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC) tomorrow.
A reliable source told Naija Daily News that Agbebaku will lead six other yet unknown PDP members in the State Assembly to the ruling APC in a major power shift in the state’s legislature.
This development follows Ojezele Osezua Sunday’s recent defection from the Edo State House of Assembly. Sunday, a member representing Esan South-East Constituency, returned to the APC citing irreconcilable differences with the PDP.
Political analysts aveerred that the defection of Agbebaku and his colleagues, if confirmed, could shift the balance of power in the Edo State House of Assembly, potentially giving the APC a stronger foothold in the state.
